Rincón de Santa María is a short walk to center of San Miguel. The path leads through the Santa Maria Plaza and the hacienda and chapel of the same name, the Obraje granary, and the amphitheater. Even today, this plaza is the one that best preserves San Miguel de Allende's inviting provincial character.

The location is unique: on one side of the community lies a large nature reserve ensuring the ambiance of San Miguel's desert terrain. On the opposite side of the river and connected by a pedestrian bridge is Fábrica La Aurora, the old textile factory that now serves as a major art and design center.
